Being a business owner for over 20 years and now a blogger, I have learned first hand that tracking and managing is vital to every business. The industry is irrelevant, proper management is vital for success. Case and point, we own a construction business. Our management and tracking needs align with the management software by Milano. Reading this has brought back a flood of memories. In the late 80′s, I was hired to help computerize a manufacturing firm that had their entire bill of material system on index cards. They were struggling to fill orders and were headed on a steep path to being overwhelmed by their success because management did not have the information that they needed to make strategic decisions. I totally agree with you that regardless of your industry, business management software is vital, no matter how small you are. (Tracking data manually is not a great idea.)

Oh my gosh Sherryl when I had to update our company it was a huge process going from a dos database system to windows! For me, numbers whether it be accounting or inventory, are the worst thing to have to record by hand. So easy to make a mistake.

On this computerized era, is vital to have some type of business software for every business online or not.
Sometimes with a complete worksheet in Excel can help, but this software looks very interesting.
Today it’s necessary to backup the results offline and in cloud (but not everybody feel comfortable with this last point)
